At People’s Care, we provide specialized support services for children and adults with an Autism who exhibit a strong need for positive behavior support or who lack certain independent skills at home and/or in the school. Our personalized behavior intervention services focus on reducing the frequency, duration and intensity of challenging behaviors, and replacing them with socially significant behaviors in any setting/environment. Sessions are conducted in one’s home as well as other natural environments, one-on-one with a People’s Care Behavior Specialist or BCBA, and are completely tailored to meet each individual’s specific needs. |

We know that most people with Autism respond well to a highly structured environment. Our Autism Services include:
-
Conducting an initial evaluation, using research and evidence-based tools such as Functional Behavior Analysis, to determine the best approach and most appropriate treatment goals for the individual
-
Promoting independence, communication, socialization and everyday functional living skills using such proven methods as:
o Discrete Trial Training (DTT)
o Positive Behavioral Supports (PBS)
o Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)
o Pivotal Response Training (PRT)
-
Providing support through active family training and participation and, at times, direct intervention to reduce and eventually eliminate challenging behaviors
-
Providing direct training to the individual and his or her family to teach socially significant behaviors (replacement behaviors) using applied behavior analysis techniques
-
Ensuring that the most effective intervention is used in the correct setting at the correct time, with the goal of reducing and/or eliminating the need for services

At People’s Care, we believe the consumer’s circle of support is key to his or her success. In addition to working one-on-one with the child or adult with Autism, your People’s Care Behavior Specialist or BCBA will provide guidance to family and/or friends as they acquire and implement techniques/interventions to support the consumer in developing and using socially significant behaviors. In this way, People’s Care and the family work together to help children and adults with Autism achieve successful inclusion in the world around them.
