BEHAVIOR THERAPIST
Qualifications
Behavioral therapists are required to hold a Bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field. In
addition, they must have either 12 semester units in Applied Behavior Analysis and one year of
experience designing or implementing behavior services or a minimum of two years experience
designing or implementing behavior intervention services. Behavioral therapists must complete
lecture and field training and competency exams.
Duties
· To work with children with Autism and related developmental disabilities in a 1:1 setting
and with their families as part of a clinical team.
· To build relationships and make learning fun for each child
· To implement behavior plans and interventions as directed by the Clinical Supervisor and/or
Program Manager .
· To target skills goals as directed by the Clinical Supervisor and/or Program Manager.
· To work with parents on teaching skills goals.
· To collect data on the child’s behaviors and progress with goals as directed by the Clinical
Supervisor and/or Program Manager.
· To collaborate with the clinical team during team meetings.
· To attend and participate in on-going trainings, in-service sessions, and other meetings as
scheduled.
